MESA SA 2011 annual conference
October 2011
News
Under the theme ‘Innovation and Flexibility in Manufacturing Execution’ this year’s MESA SA conference is set to take place at the Indaba Hotel on 7 October. The conference will go a long way towards convincing a client or company executive of the need for an MES/MOM system, whilst being completely vendor and technology agnostic. In addition, the speakers at the conference will not only provide some very educational information, but they will give insight into the potential pitfalls when embarking on an MES/MOM implementation. The list of presentations includes:
1. Innovation and flexibility in adventure racing – Clinton Mackintosh, adventure racer.
2. Driving business innovation through systems thinking – Craig Simpson, lead analyst, IDC Manufacturing Insights, CEMA, Prague.
3. Developing new performance measures to improve production process management – Aleksandra Paton, process specialist, Middelburg Ferrochrome & Dr. Kobus van der Merwe, Industrial Management Enhancement.
4. Implementation and rollout of OEE at Hulamin – Shueyb Vally, Hulamin.
5. Implementation of an integrated decision support centre for the Eskom Generation Fleet – Lynette Africa, Eskom and Machiel Engelbrecht, Bytes PMC.
6. Haggie Steel Wire Rope (SWR) scheduling and execution system implementation – Eddie Botes, planning manager, SCAW SWR.
7. Remote monitoring and diagnostic centre implementation at Eskom Return To Service Plants – Deon Smit, production integration manager, Eskom.
