As a sponsorship partner of ‘Build the Class of 2022’ Vega Instruments SA will be investing in the future of many young South Africans who this year started their formal schooling. The project, a Kingsway Centre of Concern development north of Johannesburg at Zandspruit, will provide pre-primary, primary and secondary schools for about 1500 learners.
Zandspruit is an informal settlement and currently home to an estimated 10 000 children with the right to a formal education. By making this commitment to help, Kingsway is building on to its existing school for disadvantaged learners in Randburg and extending its knowledge and experience in this field. The new school will help to provide much needed skills for a future South Africa.
At a recent gala function, Kingsway Centre of Concern officially launched its ‘Build the Class of 2022’ project. Vega Instruments was the major sponsor of the evening with eTV newscaster Kathy Mohlahlana as MC. Approximately 300 guests were entertained by the acclaimed African Children’s Choir as well as 2010 SA Idols winner, Elvis Blue.
