Voith's milestone in energy generation history

Utility Ente Vasco de la Energía recently inaugurated the Mutriku wave power plant located at the Basque seaport of Mutriku, Spain. Voith Hydro supplied the equipment for the 16 power units that will provide an output of 300 kilowatts, sufficient to power around 250 homes.
Voith Hydro’s wave power technology can be deployed in new and existing breakwaters or in purpose-built structures, with continuous design improvements enabling leading-edge performance. The potential for energy from the ocean is estimated at 1,8 Terawatts, most of which is still untapped.
