Unitronics new Vision1040 PLC and integrated HMI allows machine manufacturers and system integrators to add a brilliant colour touch-screen equipped with nine programmable function key display and full PLC functionality to their systems. Users are able to enjoy up to 1024 I/O options, a USB programming port, data logging and built-in recipe capability, reduced programming time and minimum wiring.
Industrial control processes can now rely on a single device: the Vision1040 can use 20 auto-tuned PID loops to control temperature, level, and pressure, while the 16-bit, 65K SVGA colour touch screen displays data, trend graphs, and attention-grabbing alarm screens. Display options are almost endless, with more than 1000 user-designed screens and up to 500 images per application.
The memory holds 2 MB of application memory, plus 1 MB for fonts and 80 MB for images. Features include micro SD card memory storage for data logging and back up and complete PLC cloning. The controller is fast: scanning 1K of a typical application in 0,9 μsec, making it a natural for rapid response applications such as packaging machines.
Communication options include TCP/IP Ethernet, cellular and industrial protocols such as Modbus, DF1 slave, J1939 and CANopen. In addition, the Vision1040 can be taught to communicate via almost any device-based protocol. Like other members of the Vision series, Vision1040 supports digital and analogue I/Os, as well as direct temperature measurement inputs via snap-in and remote I/O modules. Unitronics’ free VisiLogic software provides one user-friendly environment for hardware configuration, modular ladder application development and HMI design, including a rich colour library of industrial images.
The Vision1040 reduces overall system costs by cutting programming time, minimising hardware requirements, saving cabinet space and, above all, exempting the user from setting up panel PLC communication.
