In order to offer a high degree of protection in the industrial environment, Phoenix Contact has integrated the Mini-B USB insert into the M12 plug connector. Thanks to the compact size, these are especially suitable for applications where space-saving solutions are demanded. These include data acquisition/logging in onboard systems, visual systems, industrial monitoring cameras as well as test and measuring instruments.
The moulded cables fulfil the IP65/IP67 protection rating and the M12 housing offers protection against heavy knocks and blows and can even withstand corrosive environments. The M12-Mini-B USB plug connector has an integrated grounding spring contact which joins the connector and the metal housing. This ensures a continuous ground path for optimum shielding.
The PCB plug connectors can be mounted directly onto PC boards. Equipped with the Speedcon quick connection system, they can be locked with just half a turn to reduce installation time. The plug connectors with a data transmission rate of 480 Mbit/s comply with the USB 2.0 standard.
