Variable area flowmeters

Gemü Africa offers a wide range of variable area flowmeters for industries including water treatment, mechanical engineering, surface treatment, compressed air supply, chemical, environmental, energy production, paper, metal production and other processing industries.

The flowmeters operate on the unique variable area principle and are fitted in a vertical pipeline with the working medium flowing from bottom to top. The float moves freely in a conical metering tube and is lifted by the flow of the medium which causes it to rotate. When the back pressure is exactly the same as the force of gravity acting on the float it no longer changes in height and the flow can be read directly off the scale. By mounting limit switches, instrument sensors and a series of Reed contacts, monitoring and signal processing is possible using the plant control system.
