Beyond Wireless partners with Krohne
February 2011
News
Machine-to-machine solutions provider Beyond Wireless has appointed Krohne as a value added channel partner. “Krohne is a specialist in the supply of flowmeters and we believe this partnership will benefit both sets of customers through the added value our expertise in remote wireless monitoring and control will bring to the partnership,” says Ian Lester, Beyond Wireless CEO. “We at Beyond Wireless recognise that we cannot be experts in all industries, but we understand that by partnering with companies who are global authorities in their respective markets we can provide a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.”
John Alexander, sales and marketing manager at Krohne, agrees, noting that the intention of the Beyond Wireless/Krohne collaboration is to offer clients a complete solution from one source. “Krohne will focus on its strength, the industrial flow and level measurement arena in the mines, water and waste water and metals markets, while Beyond Wireless will focus on providing wireless communication and the monitoring and control platforms.”
Alexander explains that the Beyond Wireless technology enables Krohne to offer its customers with data-on-demand Internet based solutions. “Beyond Wireless offers an ‘in the cloud solution’, adding value to the Krohne offering by providing a wireless, web-based portal to the customer who is then able to add devices to the platform as and when required. The data is secure and can be manipulated to monitor for incidents like leak detection or to determine consumption patterns and configure alarms to warn him if consumption exceeds the set-point. This can reduce response times and pre-empt equipment failures and the resultant interruption of services. Lower operating and support costs and greater flexibility are the primary benefits to the customer.”
