PR electronics has released new versions of its PReasy 4100 family of universal input devices that offer even more features. The new version of these devices allows users to choose either the internal CJC, or the 5910 connector with its built-in Pt100 sensor designed to provide even better cold junction compensation of TC inputs. This ensures improved accuracy at the relatively high temperatures that can occur in sealed cabinets where many devices are mounted closely together.
The 4114/4116 units are approved for use in SIL2 systems, and monitor the mA output to ensure that the device will go into an error mode if the output loop is disconnected. At the request of a number of users to have the option of disabling this function when the devices are used in non-SIL2 applications, this possibility now exists in the menu, allowing the customers to open the output loop without engaging the SIL2 lock. The 4114/4116 units are delivered default with the SIL2 function disabled.
It is also now possible to select a latching relay function. If the input signal exceeds a defined set-point, the relay activates and can only be reset manually. The latching function is ideal for applications that require action from an operator when a relay activates.
