Sick opens SA subsidiary

In response to consistent economic growth in South Africa and particularly the considerable growth in the processing industries, the German sensor manufacturer Sick has founded its own South African subsidiary located near Roodepoort.

Prior to the new company being founded in South Africa, Sick was represented by M&M Systems Automation and Jendamark Automation. The newly formed company Sick Automation Southern Africa is a joint venture between the German-based sensor manufacturer and M&M Systems Automation.

The primary objective of the new company is to be close to the market, offering customers in South Africa high quality products and expertise, including local systems engineering and software integration. Committed to a long-term investment in South Africa, the newly formed company will focus on providing a solid foundation for the entire product range. Sick Automation Southern Africa commences operation on 1 December 2010.
