Instrotech has introduced a range of bolt-on strain gauge transducer/field indicator combinations for silo weighing, available in kit form. With eight options available these kits are ideal for low cost applications requiring level measurement. At the basic end are the silo weighing kits for two leg systems with Instrotech’s locally designed and manufactured panel mount indicator. At the high end, kits are available for six leg systems consisting of transducers and the field mount indicator.
The bolt-on strain gauge transducer, model 178, is used mainly on the support legs of tanks, silos, bins and hoppers for level measurement, weighing and stress and fatigue monitoring. As the vessel supports do not need to be cut, raised or suspended, the transducers are easy to install on both on new and existing structures. Manufactured to strict quality control standards under load cell conditions for stability and repeatability, the units are sealed to IP66.
The Model 4004 LED panel mount load cell indicator is an easy-to-use precision programmable unit. Inputs include load cell input (six wires) and two digital inputs for remote tare and remote peak hold reset (optional). The excitation includes sense feedback to compensate for cable loss. Digital filtering for high stability and tare function is included as standard. A wide range of options such as analogue output, set-points and alarms, peak or valley hold and serial interface are available. There is also an IP65 wall mount enclosure available for the panel mount indicator.
Instrotech’s top of the range Model 6004LC field mount load cell transmitter with 6 digit display and 4 line LCD offers many additional functions such as displays for mass and programming, digital communications for direct connection to control computers and alarms. The ARM processor used incorporates a USB port and real-time clock with day/date. This instrument is housed in rugged powder coated aluminium with splash-proof keypad. Also available are radio modems to transmit data from the local indicator to a remote display or monitoring system.
