OMSA streamlines and grows

November 2010 News

The OMSA Group recently streamlined its systems and processes, rebranded the group of companies and is more than optimistic about its successes in these recessionary times. Marco Errath, OMSA Group director: “We have turned this difficult economic time into positive growth for OMSA. We overhauled our branding and image with a fresh style more indicative of our current standing within the industries that we operate. We have introduced new processes and systems into the group which enable our sales force to become more ‘group and range of products’ focused than before, thereby offering our customers a slicker and one-stop-shop service. We have invested in our people and expanded our product range, enabled the group to keep on track with budgetary targets this financial year.”

The OMSA Group lubrication and bulk fuel storage supply systems have been well received by the local and regional markets and the introduction of OMSA Pewag tyre protection chains has resulted in increased business for the group in a niche sector. The group acquired the distributorship of the American ITT valves last year and has received good technical back-up from their US manufacturer enabling those valves to successfully penetrate the South African market.

Errath said: “We continue to expand our product range through meetings with overseas manufacturers wanting to establish a presence in South Africa. We believe the OMSA Group offers a professional distributorship and has good market knowledge, in addition to operating our own manufacturing facility which has kept us very cost focused and delivery competitive. We are investing in the future by supplementing our workshop with new guillotining and sheet bending machinery, and have plans to establish our own high pressure testing capability”.
