High temperature air flow probes

October 2010 Temperature Measurement

Artic Driers International has recently been appointed the distributor of the Softflow range of high temperature air and gas flow probes for southern Africa. This range of probes operates in air and gas temperatures up to 400°C in pipelines with diameters from 15 to 500 mm. The probes provide totalised air/gas flow as well as temperature and actual mass flow. Allen Cockfield, CEO of Artic Driers, says that the probes may be used in a variety of gases from compressed air to nitrogen and oxygen. The probe and holders are manufactured from stainless steel to provide a rugged monitoring solution.

Applications for Softflow are very varied and include:

* Power generation.

* Food, beverage and pharmaceutical.

* Waste water treatment.

* Flue gas and flare stacks.

* Paper manufacturing.

Cockfield explains that these products complement the company’s range of air and gas measurement equipment from CS Instruments. He adds that Artic Driers has invested heavily in equipment to enable it to provide on-site auditing of clients air and gas applications, due to increased power costs and the need for clients to control air, air leakage and gas flows more accurately.
