Mosaic is the new modular and configurable safety controller from ReeR, capable of monitoring many safety sensors and commands at the same time. These can be safety light curtains, safety photocells, emergency stops, safety mats, magnetic or mechanical safety switches, two-hand controls and similar devices. Its modular, expandable structure makes it possible to adapt its I/O configuration and functionality to the demands of a variety of applications for highly versatile safety control.
The controller has solid state and/or relay outputs that can be instantaneous or delayed. Compact in design, the single main module accepts expansion units designed for connection to the most common industrial Fieldbus systems such as Profibus DP, DeviceNet and CANopen.
Mosaic Safety Designer (MSD) software is a user-friendly configuration tool, which makes the programming possible in just a few simple steps. By clicking on the functional icons, it is easy to drag and drop configuration of many safety functions. An accurate functional test incorporated in the software detects errors immediately to ensure that configuration errors cannot lead to unsafe situations and valuable time is not lost during commissioning of a machine.
In addition, multilevel password management guards against non-authorised access to the configuration software. A memory card can be used to save the configuration data for copying to another safety controller as and when required.
