When connecting sensors/actuators from the control cabinet to the field, panel feed-throughs are generally implemented using cable glands or flush-type plug connectors. Phoenix Contact now offers sensor/actuator boxes with a connection at the rear side which accommodate eight M12 flush-type plug connectors with a single assembly cut-out. The boxes are mounted directly on the control cabinet panel and sealed to the housing through their rear seal.
Ribbon cable connections, pluggable spring cage terminals or permanently connected strands can be selected to connect the sensor/actuator box with the control. Outside the control cabinet, the usual properties of the sensor/actuator box are available, ie, M12 metal threads and the Speedcon quick locking system. Here, the box can be connected to the sensors or actuators using standardised M12 plug connectors and sensor/actuator cables.
