Data acquisition made powerful and flexible

Data Acquisition & Telemetry
Tecmo Automation has been specialising in the data acquisition market – particularly remote data acquisition – for a number of years. Solutions include data acquisition applications in the fields of energy management, agriculture silo control, oil tank level management and mine environmental parameter monitoring. The company also specialises in interfacing serial, Ethernet, fibre, WiFi, RF, GPRS and GSM technology.
According to Tecmo, data acquisition provides insights into a process and supplies the owner with knowledge. With this knowledge comes the power to manage and improve the process. With this in mind Tecmo has introduced its latest technology for the remote data acquisition market – RDAc Compact. The RDAc Compact is a fourth generation member of the RDAc (remote data acquisition and control) family.
The need for more integrated and flexible data acquisition solutions triggered the design of RDAc Compact, which features the following:
* 10 x isolated digital inputs.
* Five x 1 Amp relay outputs.
* Four x non-isolated analogue inputs.
* Two x non-isolated analogue outputs.
* Two x RS232 ports.
* One x RS485 port.
* 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port.
* TCP/IP server.
* RTU master/slave.
* USB master/slave.
* Integrated GSM/GPRS engine.
* LCD display and keypad.
* HTTP server.
* FTP server.
The most important advantage of the RDAc Compact is the remote support provided with the product. The Compact runs a full FTP Server which can be accessed using either a LAN or GPRS connection. This function allows remote users to:
* Download and inspect data.
* Change unit configuration.
* Upgrade the software.
* Send SMS commands status checks.
The HTTP server allows users to connect via Ethernet or GPRS to view data, configurations and status using a Web browser.
The RDAc Compact provides users with a powerful data acquisition and logging engine with interface capabilities for efficient system integration in applications such as:
* Remote scada I/O points.
* Remote intelligent I/O devices.
* Remote control.
* Data interfaces for control systems.
* Remote alarm manager.
* Control via SMS.
* Data concentrating unit.
