Siemens concentrates European production

The Siemens Industry Automation Division is concentrating its production of components for the process industry in the French location of Haguenau. Up to now, Siemens manufactured field devices such as positioners, pressure and temperature transmitters, as well as process analysis equipment such as gas analysers and laser spectrometers for the global market at this facility. The Haguenau production site has now been expanded up 30 000 square metres to include facilities for the manufacture of magnetic flowmeters and will be the workplace for more than 500 employees.
With the construction of the new 10 000 square metre production facility, the location has been expanded to become the company’s main mechatronic manufacturing centre for process instrumentation and analysis in Europe. The new production unit is equipped with state-of-the-art production and test systems, as well as with flowmeter calibration rigs for pipelines with a diameter exceeding two metres.
