One of the highlights of Valtek Sulamericana’s product lines is the high pressure globe valve series GLH with proven technical capabilities. Specially designed for one of the refineries of Brazil´s state-owned oil company Petrobras, this 450 mm diameter valve with ANSI rating 1500 is designed for the pressures up to 135 bar and temperatures up 370°C of a two-phase fluid derived from the reactor effluent.
These massive valves were specially developed with an extremely high quality cast body made of 347 stainless steel and hardened alloy trim to prevent erosion and assure the integrity of the seating surfaces typically found in harsh applications like this one. The body and wetted parts comply with NACE MR-01.75 standards. Equipped with spring cylinder actuator, the control valve is supplied with a state-of-the-art intelligent positioner capable of providing diagnostic data (Foundation Fieldbus).
The entire project was completed in eight months, from the design of specific components to the assembly and final tests of these special GLH valves. The result is a unique control valve, weighing 6 metric tons, which uses leading technology to provide long lasting reliability.
