Sperosens has announced that one of its project leaders, Dirk Coetzee, who specialises in systems and networking, has been certified as a Professional by LonMark International. LonMark recently launched the LonMark Professional certification initiative to deliver a comprehensive testing program in an effort to establish a global standard of proficiency. According to LonMark it needs qualified, trained professional installers and integrators to ensure that systems are correctly designed and installed.
The LonWorks networking platform is a powerful, pervasive solution for today’s advanced control networking systems. It is the foundation for an open, interoperable system in which products and solutions from the world’s leading companies are brought together in a simple, straightforward implementation that integrates many system components into one complete solution.
One of the original reasons for founding Sperosens was to establish US-based Echelon Corporations’ LonWorks technology in the local market. The technology now forms the basis of one of its primary product lines – SL2000. Its first LonWorks-based telemetry system was sold in to Anglo American in 1997.
