Scada breakfast road shows begin
May 2001
News
Following on the success of the its X-CHANGE 2001 User Conference at the beginning of April, Futuristix-Wonderware's breakfast road show gets under way near the end of May.
Wonderware is a software organisation whose goal it is to enable rapid response from process sensors to business systems. These breakfast sessions are designed to provide the quickest and most informative technology update in manufacturing and production software systems. "Today, we have the tools to structure enterprises to work in realtime from the shop floor to the boardroom," says Mike le Plastrier, MD of Futuristix-Wonderware. "The benefits of this are obvious but what is not obvious is how to make it all work to the benefit of your bottom line."
Better decision-making, efficiency and control at all levels but especially in the all-critical production processes, can only happen through the timely delivery of mission-critical information throughout the organisation. This involves using existing resources and adopting new and exciting emerging technologies that are designed to provide unprecedented levels of control and insight into all aspects of the enterprise.
"If you have got ERP, production monitoring and the web, then all you now need is the means to make it all work together," continues le Plastrier. "In two 45-minute presentations we will be bringing all current Wonderware users up to date and also wetting the appetites of new and potential users. We will be showing off our new web-based monitoring and reporting, our latest control of your plant via Windows 2000 and Terminal Services and how you can do it all with your PDA. Our updated condition-based plant maintenance solution, our brand new downtime monitoring toolset and of course our latest offerings of batch management and resource tracking solutions will be part of these action-packed sessions. Production managers will see what is available to increase plant efficiencies. IT managers will find a new source of information and web-based reporting tools. Plant managers will be fascinated at how easily they can monitor their key performance indicators and technical personnel will find out how to make it all happen.'
