The ToughNet TN-5510/5518 series are EN50155 compliant managed Ethernet switches designed for industrial applications, such as rolling stock, vehicle and railway applications. TN series switches use M12 and other circular connectors to ensure tight, robust connections, and guarantee reliable operation against environmental disturbances, such as vibration and shock. TN-5500-LV-MV switches accommodate a wide input range to enable usage anywhere in the world. In addition, the 12/24/36/48 VDC, 72/96/110 VDC, or 110/220 VDC/VAC dual, isolated redundant power supply increases the reliability of communication systems and reduces cabling and wiring costs.
Bypass relay for linear topology
ToughNet products support a bypass relay function for linear topologies, which is particularly beneficial when interconnecting several networks in railway communication systems. In the event of a power failure, the ports of the Ethernet switch are bypassed by the relay circuit, and the transmission lines interconnect automatically to ensure continuous system operation.
Turbo Ring redundancy
ToughNet products support Turbo Ring, which guarantees fast network fault recovery of less than 20 milliseconds with a full load of 250 Ethernet switches.
Key features
* 2 Gigabit ports with optional bypass relay function.
* M12 connectors for robust links.
