Vega’s new signal conditioning Vegamet 391 is suitable for use with all analogue sensors measuring level, pressure, volume, weight, distance and temperature, and offers a choice of either Ethernet or RS232 communications interfaces.
A signal conditioning module is used in control and data acquisition systems to standardise all sensor output signals. Each sensor then delivers information at the same (referenced) voltage/current level. This simplifies wiring, standardises all the receiving ADC (analog-to-digital converter) front-ends and delivers the transmitted sensor information signals to the central PLC.
The 391 is used, for example, in intelligent pump management and overfill protection and is particularly suited to applications in overflow basins. It can be used to exchange data with Web-VV locally in the network and also on the Vega server.
No programming knowledge is needed to adjust Vegamet to the control tasks required; the measured values are clearly available on the display face and also at the interfaces.
Vega’s new signal conditioning instrument has been developed in response to customer requirements from around the world.

Level Measurement & Control
Level measurement in LNG and LPG processes is about answering the simple question: “How much product is in the tank?” However, obtaining an exact value is not easy. The products are often under pressure, cryogenic, and highly explosive. Sensors from Vega have been operating successfully in all stages of the LNG/LPG process for many years.
