PLC interface from Phoenix Contact, the relay and optocoupler interface between automation equipment and the sensors and actuators of peripheral units in the system, is now available with a time-saving spring-loaded terminal.
The interfaces consist of 6,2 mm narrow standard terminals and plug-in changeover-contact relays for operating performances up to 250 V a.c./6 A. These are alternatively available as nonwearing switching optocouplers for loads up to 24 V d.c./2 A. Up to 80 modules can be bridged in a matter of seconds using the FBST 500 plug-in-jumper pitch-free system of arbitrary length. Cumbersome and time-consuming looped jumpers are now not necessary.
Also available in optimised versions for sensors and actuators in standard input and output configuration, it complements the universal types of changeover contacts. All sensors and actuators are connected directly at the interface as a terminal strip with integrated relay function. This saves the supply and return-conductor terminals, as well as the wiring otherwise needed for these. The company says the savings that can be made compared with conventional coupler members and separate terminals in the outgoing-section terminal level can be as much as 80% in terms of space and 60% of the expenditure for the wiring.
