Microwave blocked chute switch

September 2009 Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

New versions of the microwave block chute detector are now available. The new versions include a long range (100 metre), as well as a smart version (signal gain/strength and configurable set-point)

The blocked chute detector and point level switch provides non-contact detection of solids through a permeable material like glass, plastic, ceramic, tile, PTFE or rubber. When product interrupts the beam between the transmitter and receiver, a contact output is initiated. The electronics enclosure is manufactured out of aluminium, the probe of 304 stainless steel and the tip of the sensor are covered with PTFE, to protect against material build-up. Even a build-up on the sensor is still penetrated by the microwave. This is ideal for dusty applications. The instruments feature easy set-up using dip switches for high or low gain/power and time delay adjustments.
