Elquip introduces Italian flair

Elquip Solutions, the local agent for Italian-based Pedrazzoli, is excited about its introduction of the MCL 120 IMS automatic cutter to the South African market. Pedrazzoli, a leading producer of machine tools for cutting, forming, and bending of metal profile parts, specialises in the supply of machine technology tailored to suit a specific set of customer needs.
According to Mike Cronin, owner and manager of Elquip Solutions, the meticulous design of this machine allows cutting of a wide range of tubes up to a diameter of 120 mm. “Years of experience have allowed the designers to create a machine that combines a high-speed cutting cycle with the strength required to cut extremely thick tubes and high-resistance materials,” he says.
Some of the machine’s advanced features include: a high-speed automatic loader that can support 4 tonnes; cutting blades from 140–370 mm in diameter and a cutting speed adjustable from 38 to 287 rpm. The patented discharge system allows fast and efficient offloading of work pieces with the correct orientation after cutting for easy attachment to other units.
“The intelligent motion system (IMS) control developed by Pedrazzoli’s engineers gives operators the flexibility to modify the cutting and feeding speeds during the work cycle,” says Cronin. “The software also helps the operator choose the best type of blade for the application and the optimal cutting length and speed.”
He adds that the MCL 120 IMS automatic cutter can also be integrated with end-working, washing and drying systems, dimensional control systems, and collection units by simply adding standard accessories.
“Pedrazzoli is very conscious of customer requests and suggestions when searching for new solutions. This customer-centric focus contributes significantly to the company’s goal of creating machines of peerless quality performance and affordability,” he concludes.
