Temperature switch with extended sensor

July 2009 Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

ifm electronic’s TK temperature switch is available in five versions, with a temperature set range from -25 to +140°C. Each version has either two separate switch points with fixed hysteresis or adjustable set and reset points. The original 25 mm length probes have now been joined by a 255 mm probe for awkward corners.

The Pt1000 element is intended to provide lasting, accurate temperature sensing. The solid-state device shows two light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which indicate the switching status and readiness for operation. The switching temperature can be set on the bench or during the process. Operating voltage is 10 to 30 VDC and both the outputs can handle 500 mA.

The TK series and accessories make a suitable alternative to mechanical temperature switches. The 0,2% accuracy is achieved by electronic temperature compensation and improved temperature decoupling. The flush process connection is via the IFM EHEDG-certified modular hygienic adapter system, allowing integration via common process adapters, ideal for hygienic applications.
