Pressure Measurement & Control

What a concept

July 2009 Pressure Measurement & Control

Integrating differential pressure measurement with the success of plics.

VEGADIF 65 is a further member of the plics (plug in concepts) instrument family and, with its functions, extends the field of application considerably. The newly developed differential pressure transmitter with metallic, piezo-resistive measuring cell is used for differential pressure measurement on filters and pumps, as well as for level measurement in pressurised vessels. The fine measuring cell graduation of 0,01–40 bar and the minimal measurement deviation (0,075%) guarantee reliable measured values in flow, density and interface applications.

Special features, like the IP 68 version with external electronics for deployment at extremely damp or poorly accessible measuring sites, make additional applications possible. The wide range of plastic, aluminium and stainless steel housings in single or double chamber versions allow optimal adaptation to operating conditions.

Process adaptation is carried out directly via differential pressure pipes. The various diaphragm materials like monel or tantalum provide optimal protection against aggressive media. Numerous one or two-sided isolating systems found in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries can be installed using the scaled process fitting assembly. Process temperatures of -40 to +400°C as well as static process pressures up to 420 bar can be accommodated.

The 4–20 mA/HART, Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus signal outputs enable VEGADIF 65 to be integrated into standard control systems. The most economic solution for individual measuring points being the version with 4–20 mA output.

PACTware and other tools like PDM, AMS or Field Communicators allow simple set-up and commissioning with a PC, enabling users to take advantage of the proven plics concept in differential pressure measurement applications.
