Honeywell awarded Kimberly-Clark contract

Honeywell SA has been awarded the contract to supply automation solutions to local tissue and towelling manufacturer Kimberly-Clark.

The contract, which was awarded in December 2008, is for the supply of Honeywell’s Experion PKS R711 PMD distributed control system, the Da Vinci Quality Control System and Safety Manager at Kimberly-Clark’s Enstra mill in Springs.

In terms of technical support and cost-effectiveness, the Honeywell solution is backed by integrated platforms, life-cycle policy and an effective local project and engineering team, in addition to support from the After-Market service division.

A key requirement for Kimberly-Clark was project team experience and automation scope clarification including installation contractor evaluation.

The contract is worth some R14,6 million.
