The CVM1 is now available in a duplex system configuration, providing additional operating reliability for use in critical control system applications.

* Hot standby simultaneous processing function.

* On-line CPU, power supply and I/O module replacement

* Synchronised program execution and switching functions.

* Meets UL/CSA/CE standards.

CVM1D is particularly suitable for applications where uptime is critical, providing an additional level of reliability and system performance beyond simplex control systems. Some of the key features of the CVM1D system:

* It has the same processing power and capability of the proven CVM1 series controllers. Specific differences are indicated in the installation and operation manuals.

* The CVM1D is a single rack system, using a duplex switcher to monitor the status of the primary and secondary CPUs. Both CPUs execute programs and scans and events are synchronised at several points during the process.

* In the event of an error or failure detection, the duplex switcher takes the primary CPU off-line and switches the secondary CPU over to primary status.

* Extensive status registers and LEDs indicate the specific error conditions that have occurred.

* CPUs, power supplies and discrete I/O modules can be removed and replaced while the system is in operation and powered.

* Standard CVM1 expansion capabilities are possible with the CVM1D, with redundant power supplies and I/O removal capability.
