New clean steam trap
May 2009
Temperature Measurement
Spirax Sarco’s BT6-B sanitary thermostatic steam trap replaces the existing BT6 and BT6HC traps. The new model operates with a minimum sub-cooling, less than 2O°C from steam saturation temperature at pressures below 2,5 bar for typical operating conditions. This provides condensate back-up of less than 150 mm to ensure maximum performance of steam equipment.
The major applications for the BT6-B are effective pure steam condensate drainage on critical applications such as SIP on product lines and bio-reactors, clean steam mains drainage and steam air venting.
The BT6-B has been designed to prevent incorrect assembly (upside down) and all seals used are FDA compliant.
The seat promotes free draining of condensate and process media. Its 0,6 μm Ra surface finish is crevice free to reduce the risk of bacterial growth and product blockage.
Low and high capacity versions in all sizes meet user requirements for increased capacity, and the safety clamp prevents accidental disassembly. Fully traceable high integrity 316L stainless steel ensures system integrity.
The BT6-B is available in sizes 12,5 mm, 18,75 mm, 25 mm and 37,5 mm with sanitary clamp ends to ASME BPE, or other connections upon request. Face-to-face dimensions of 65 mm are exactly the same as existing BT6 and BT6HC models.
