Dynamics of Interkama 2001
April 2001
News
Since technological change has reached lightning speed in the wake of digitisation and the Internet, economic developments are dynamically advancing. This situation calls for a clear focus and consistent solutions. The market is shifting its orientation: the focus is now on the company as a whole.
"We have recognised the latest trends and integrated them into Interkama 2001's list of exhibits, but, more importantly, we intend to firmly position ourselves as a driving force behind these trends and to firmly position ourselves in the market and make the trade fair attractive for both old and new target groups," explains Frank Hartmann, Divisional Director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, organiser of the leading trade fair for process automation.
Interkama's expanded scope is based on four pillars: integrated solutions, systems, devices/components and services. Information technology and e-business are significant additions to Interkama 2001. At Interkama 99, 150 exhibitors from 17 nations successfully showcased their products and services at the show's software competence centre. This area is being systematically expanded and developed according to market demands.
What has been improved, expanded and changed for the new Interkama?
* Corporate areas that were previously separated have been integrated.
* Process automation exhibits are complemented by aspects of manufacturing automation.
* There is now a corporate-oriented perspective, featuring integrated solutions, devices and components, software modules for applications as well as all kinds of systems and services.
* A greater focus on IT: from individual solutions to complete business processes.
* The show's cycle has been reduced to two years.
* The trade fair's duration has been shortened to five days.
