BMG to supply Eskom
April 2009
News
Eskom has announced that BMG – Bearing Man Group - is now a supplier of Fenner energy-efficient electric motors for Eskom’s national energy efficiency programme.
Cliff Brookes, Fenner Motoline product manager, BMG Drives, inspects a new 110 kW EFF1 electric motor
“The new Fenner energy-efficient EFF1 electric motors ensure high efficiency, reduced energy consumption, extended motor life and low operating costs,” says Mark Engall, Motoline national sales manager, BMG Drives. “These new energy efficient EFF1 electric motors, if correctly used, offer savings of up to 7,5% on electricity consumption; when they are used in conjunction with other BMG energy-saving products, like OST self-tensioning motor bases, electricity savings can be as high as 10%.
“Apart from energy saving – a critical issue currently facing South Africa – these new high efficiency motors have advantages over standard electric motors. These benefits include longer service life, suitability for voltage variation applications, reduced temperature rise, minimal maintenance requirements and cost efficiency.”
The motors are available in cast iron, from 7,5 kW to 110 kW, 2 and 4 pole, 400 and 525 V and 50 Hz units.
