Record events and activities of sanctioned machine operators.
In response to industry requests Centurion-based environmental and monitoring specialists, Sperosens, has developed a new system.
The ACTSAFE was designed as a direct result of the unacceptably high number of machinery related incidents in all industry sectors. It is unique, user friendly, cost effective and can be easily installed in various machines.
The ACTSAFE is not only a precautionary measure in itself; it requires confirmation from the employee and supervisor that they comply with the legal and moral statutory requirements for health and safety, as well as the maintenance regime for equipment. This precautionary measurement reduces management’s risk of the inability to control unauthorised use of equipment by under-trained staff. The ability of the system to record all historic events could also assist management in the case of any legal proceedings as a result of injuries where the employee was at fault.
Purpose
* Limits machine activation to authorised operators.
* Logs all machine activations detail for later review.
* Reminds operator of applicable safety rules and hazards.
* Shares the safety responsibility between management and operators.
Benefits
* Operators are reminded of safety issues every time the machine is activated.
* Management can evaluate operators based on activation results.
* Operator utilisation can be calculated from activation data.
* Machine utilisation can be calculated from activation data.
* Machine maintenance can be pro-actively managed.
Typical applications are found in the operation of vehicles and machinery in the mining, motor, dairy, petrochemical and paper and pulp industries. These units are also suitable for use in access control applications.
