ifm electronic’s new Universal Safety at Work module AC007S enables connection of electro-sensitive protective equipment (ESPE) to the AS-Interface.
The safe module of the Universal series has two safety-related OSSD inputs and the output of a two-channel electro-sensitive protective device (ESPE) to EN 61496-1 can be connected.
Connection to AS-Interface is carried out via the standardised EMS interface, the additional voltage supply being provided via a 24 V flat cable. The connection of sensors with higher operating voltages, such as light curtains, to the modules is also possible.
The safe data transmission on the AS-I bus has been approved by TÜV and BIA, suitable for signal transmission up to the highest category 4 to EN 954-1 and IEC 61508/SIL3.
Powerful LEDs on the front panel indicate switching states of the inputs and outputs and any voltage supply and faults within the module. Device connection is via M12 sockets or cage clamps.
