BMG – Bearing Man Group – has acquired Transon, leading manufacturers of versatile heat exchanger systems based on the latest heat transfer and process technology.
“The Transon operation, which has relocated to the new BMG drives facility in Mahogany Ridge near Pinetown, will be supported by BMG’s extensive branch network that distributes an extensive range of engineering components throughout southern Africa,” says Ray Walker, general technical manager for BMG. “This acquisition extends BMG’s product range to include modular shell and tube heat exchangers designed for oil cooling applications.
The 5000 square metre BMG drives facility, which offers a repair and maintenance service for gearboxes and electric motors has been enhanced with the addition of the Transon range of heat exchangers that are designed and manufactured at the facility to exacting specifications.
Transon modular shell and tube heat exchangers are designed for the efficient and safe handling of hydraulic oil in large gearbox systems. The modular design, which comprises one or more shell and tube type standard units, enables installations to be extended to meet increased capacity requirements.
Single and multimodule units can be arranged in horizontal or vertical configurations, depending on capacity and size requirements. Mounting stands are designed for simple, quick installation to match the related pipe work.
Walker says, “The Transon range supplements another recent BMG acquisition, RJB Engineering, which is also based in the facility and offers a design, repair and maintenance service for industrial gearboxes.”
