Yokogawa’s DXAdvanced R3 data acquisition and display station for networks.
Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released the DXAdvanced R3 data acquisition and display station – an enhanced version of the Daqstation series of paperless recorders.
New display and a recording functionality, by facility or batch, provide excellent operability and easy data management for efficient monitoring of production lines.
Development background
The DXAdvanced is a paperless recorder with built-in panel, and offers integrated display, recording, and communication functions. Two models are available: one with a 5140 mm LCD panel and up to 12 input channels, and the other with a 265 mm panel and up to 48 input channels.
In recent years, paperless recorders that can record measurement data in electronic format have become popular as these improve maintenance efficiency and the processing of stored data on site. In addition, there is a growing emphasis on monitoring historical and current operating data and in the plant; easy viewing of data has thus become an important purchasing criteria.
When every process needs multiple devices, a recorder must be connected to each device and data acquired accordingly. As a result, managing data for the entire production line involves acquiring data from each recorder, which is laborious.
To improve the efficiency of monitoring production lines, Yokogawa has enhanced the functions of the DXAdvanced data acquisition and display station.
Product features
Display customising function
Various screens such as trend display and bar charts are placed to suit the user’s facilities; displaying the data on virtual figures makes it easier to grasp the data intuitively.
Data is acquired independently
Data acquisition can be initiated and terminated independently for each channel. This allows users to acquire data from multiple processes in a single DXAdvanced by allocating the channels to the particular processes to be managed.
Open system environment
The product conforms to PROFIBUS-DP and EtherNet/IP standards for industrial communication protocols. This facilitates the development of multivendor systems by using those protocols as a common interface when connecting to devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), temperature controllers, etc.
Markets and applications
The system has been developed for use in industries such as:
* Electrical power.
* Petrochemical.
* Chemical.
* Iron and steel.
* Pulp and paper.
* Food and pharmaceutical.
* Electricity.
* Water and wastewater.
For the recording and monitoring of various manufacturing process data: temperature; pressure; flow; chemical composition and others.
