The T-slot cylinder sensors from ifm electronic react extremely sensitively to magnetic fields due to the integrated AMR element. The sensors are particularly suited for applications requiring exact position sensing with a small amount of hysteresis, such as for short-stroke cylinders.
For installation, the sensor is placed from the top into a slot and the sensor is locked in the slot via a self-locking mechanism. The moulded cable and fixing, by means of a screw, provide effective strain relief.
The semiconductor outputs are PNP (NC and NO) or NPN (NO). For connection, cables with M8 or M12 connectors and open cable ends are available. An LED integrated into the housing indicates the switching status.
The cylinder sensors operate without wear; compared to reed switches their life is almost unlimited. Operating from a voltage between 10 and 30 V, the high switching frequency (up to 3000 Hz) makes them suitable for quick piston movements.
Thanks to the wide selection of optional adapters the 25 mm short T-slot sensors can be fixed to almost every clean-line, tie rod, integrated profile or trapezoidal slot cylinder, as well as to many special slots.
