Abacus Automation

The innovative use of a TP177A and a S7200 PLC to serve as a reporting interface at many production points throughout the plant at Franke Kitchens, whereby requests for assistance are rapidly forwarded via SMS using a S7300 master. SMSs are sent to the relevant people relating to the request. The request is monitored and escalated if not dealt with. This ensures the minimum downtime as it monitors both the operating staff and the engineering staff and reports via a WinCC flexible computer station. Data is also automatically archived into a database.

This system replaced a complex multi-axis Bosch servo control system and outperformed it.
