ifm electronic’s efector gwr level sensor operates to the principle of guided wave radar. It measures the level using electromagnetic pulses in the nanosecond range. The pulses are transmitted by the sensor head and guided along the probe. If the microwave pulse hits the medium to be detected, it is reflected and evaluated by the sensor.
efector gwr is suitable for a continuous level monitoring in hydrous media such as coolants and cleaning liquids.
ifm electronic supplies efector gwr in variants with two or four switching outputs or with analog output (4-20 mA/0-10 V).
The sensor is installed in the tank using a process connection or flange. If necessary, the probes can be easily shortened by the user so that probes between 150 mm and 1600 mm can be adapted to the tank. The probes are available in seven standard lengths.
Setting of all parameters as well as programming of the switch points and indication of the current level is carried out via two pushbuttons and a 4-digit alphanumeric display. The efector gwr is not subject to any mechanical wear and ensures high plant uptime and process safety.
