NewElec’s MA motor protection and control relay offers a full house of protection features that includes three independent over-temperature inputs to look after the bearings, five digital inputs and two programmable outputs, all at a competitive price.
The relay also includes integrated earth leakage protection with harmonic filtering, integrated earth leakage core balance CT and integrated current sensing CTs up to 250 A. Optional auto-restarting on load loss tripping is possible, as well as automatic co-ordination of associated trip functions for high-energy fault interruptions.
Additional features include realtime and date stamping recorded by the relay for the last four trips, a recording utility of actual RMS loads, thermal condition, mains phase voltage, line voltage, as well as status of digital inputs and output contacts. The user has the possibility of expanding the unit for fieldbus communications via Profibus DP, Modbus RTU and Canbus protocols.
The benefits of using this MA relay include total protection of the motor and assurance that the correct switchgear is used to interrupt high-energy faults. The MA relay can easily be used to immediately automate an old plant, and it can be used to record motor operation and analyse data.
