SRE Developments, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of process control and automation products, celebrates its 20th anniversary in August 2008. During this time the company has earned the right to become a full distributor of Legrand and Omron products in addition to its own product development and project related work.
No-one is exempt from product training
After a successful probation period with Legrand in 1993 SRE was awarded full distributorship in 1994. That same year SRE became Legrand South Africa’s number one distributor, a position which it held for the next four years. During 1996 the company achieved a milestone and sales of Legrand products exceeded R1 million for the first time. This achievement was repeated in 1998 when SRE was Legrand’s number one distributor for industrial products. SRE has also achieved a top 10 distributor rating for Omron electrical control components as well as being awarded the Autopage 4Warn dealer of the year for 1996/1997.
A patented range of DIN rail mount pluggable timing and process modules complements the distributor side of the business and SRE manufactures its own range of alarm panels, continuous level controllers, water quality controllers, power supplies and radio monitoring equipment. The company also undertakes instrument and control panel design and assembly.
Over the last 20 years, SRE has supplied process control systems for water treatment plants, hospital gas monitoring systems, mining applications as well as alarm systems and national RF networks.
SRE offers its prospective clients a full turnkey solution including design, development, assembly, installation and commissioning. All PCBs are designed and assembled in house, as is the software and automation development. SRE also undertakes the sole manufacturer of equipment for a number of clients with which it has exclusivity agreements.
A well known fact about SRE is its home for wayward kittens. What might not be so well known is SRE’s support of environmental biodiversity, particularly the marine environment. Apart from being an avid supporter of Bayworld in Port Elizabeth and a Patron Member of the Animal Keeper Association of Africa, SRE supports students, scientists and technicians through their involvement with the Bayworld Centre for Research and Education, as well as assisting in the development of Animal Keepers.
The management would like to thank their loyal and dedicated staff without whom these milestones could not have been achieved; and the SRE family thanks all their suppliers and customers for the dedicated support of the past 20 years.
