Hirschman appoints Profitek

As of 10 June 2008 Hirschmann Automation and Control in Germany appointed Centurion-based Profitek Industrial Communications as its distributor for Industrial Ethernet switches in South Africa.

“The Profitek team has a cumulated experience in Industrial Ethernet technology of more than 26 years,” says Profitek’s director, Fons de Leeuw. Before Fons immigrated to South Africa three years ago he worked for Hirschmann in Europe for 18 years. He was responsible for international Strategic Marketing and Business Development.

Hirschmann was the first company to develop Ethernet products for DIN Rail in 1997, the start of Industrial Ethernet. Today, the Hirschmann brand is a worldwide market leader in Industrial Ethernet switching.
