RFID for conveying applications

The DTA300 radio frequency identification (RFID) system, from ifm electronic, offers increased read/write distances with a 125 kHz operating frequency. High reading reliability is assured and costs are reduced due to fast and easy set-up.

The system, which has been designed for use in assembly, conveying and materials handling applications, can be easily integrated into AS-Interface networks and is immediately ready for operation.

Passive RFID tags are mounted on the objects to be identified and data transmission through inductive coupling occurs as the objects enter the detection zone of the read/write module at linear speeds up to 0,5 m/s. Data transfer is controlled by the AS master with the read/write module operated as an analogue slave according to profile 7,4 in the AS-Interface network.

The compact read/write module includes the antenna and the AS-Interface controller, allowing direct network connection and two-wire communication.
