The ILC 150 GSM/GPRS inline controller from Phoenix Contact combines the excellent price/performance ratio of the ILC 150 ETH compact controller with the communication capabilities of a cellular phone. Since the ILC 150 ETH controller’s functions such as implemented web server or OPC functionality are also available in the GSM/GPRS device, process parameters and factors can easily be visualised in both local and global networks.
The new controller is designed to connect hard-to-access locations using GPRS
With an integrated GSM modem the ILC 150 mini controller can be used for a variety of new applications. Independently functioning stations that cannot be connected to the public telephone network are able to transfer their process data or error messages to the control centre over the GSM cellular phone system. Furthermore, spatially separated controllers distributed over a large area can be linked together in a cost-effective manner and in such a way that SMS, GSM modem or GPRS connections can be used.
Thanks to the direct expandability offered by the various terminals of Phoenix Contact’s inline automation system, users can adjust the controller to meet any application requirements. You can also configure and program the mini PLC as well as any other Phoenix Contact controller over the Ethernet port using the IEC 61131-compliant PC Worx automation software. The interface is used to exchange data with OPC servers as well.
