Turck produces a flush-mount proximity sensor offering a high (50 mm) sensing range and dual diagnostic indicators. The Q80's dual diagnostic indication system provides a constant display of operating status that is invisible from many different angles, including above and below the sensor. The combination of exceptional range, dual-diagnostics and embeddable design makes the Q80 a good solution for a broad range of automotive, material handling and conveyor applications.
Even when fully embedded in steel, the Q80 provides a 50 mm sensing range. The long range allows target objects to be positioned farther from the sensor, avoiding impact damage and interference from moving parts during the sensing process.
Like the rest of the Uprox line, the Q80 can sense all metals at a single sensing range, including mild steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium. Uprox technology enables users to inventory fewer sensors and eliminates downtime for adjustments when target materials change. Uprox technology also provides inherent weld-field immunity, eliminating false sensor triggering and assuring reliable operation in the most severe AC or DC weld fields.
The Q80's dual diagnostic indication system consists of two sets of two LED indicators located on the face and front edge of the sensor. Green LEDs indicate 'power on' and flash in the event of a short circuit. Yellow LEDs indicate 'output energised'.
The Q80 proximity sensor is available in three-wire DC models, with NO (normally-open) outputs or NC (normally-closed) outputs, a four-wire DC model and a two-wire AC/DC model. Integral circuitry protects against short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. An optional 500 ms time delay is available on all models.
The rugged one-piece Q80 housing is constructed of plastic PBT that meets IEC IP67 standards. The sensor's operating temperature range is -25 to +70°C. A unique DIN mounting bracket allows users to snap the Q80 directly onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail. The sensor is available with a quick-disconnect or a potted-in cable.
