Control Microsystems selects Kepware

May 2008 News

Kepware Technologies, leader in communications for automation, announced recently that its product, KEPServerEX, has been selected by Control Microsystems to enhance third party communications for its ClearSCADA product.

The latest generation of Kepware's technology, KEPServerEX was designed to allow users to quickly set up communications from equipment to control systems via a wide range of available plug-in device drivers and components. KEPServerEX delivers over 130 protocols and connectivity to thousands of devices. Designed to address both end user and OEM markets, KEPServerEX for OEMs can be completely re-branded and integrated into OEM delivered solutions.

Control Microsystems will incorporate KEPServerEX technology into its standard ClearSCADA product, delivering over 100 communications drivers to its customer base.

“We are proud to have been chosen by Control Microsystems,” said Roy Kok, VP of Marketing and Sales for Kepware Technologies. “They have a very unique and complete offering, including both hardware and software. The addition of Kepware communications will enable them to integrate with a wide variety of existing plant systems as they deliver their solutions.”

"We evaluated many solutions for PLC connectivity and no other offering came close to delivering what Kepware has to offer,” said Eric Schwantler, product manager for Control Microsystems. "ClearSCADA is a scada host product that offers high-reliability and function, and by incorporating KEPServerEX into our product, we know that our high standards for quality are maintained."

“This is an excellent partnership. Control Microsystems is recognised as a leader in developing scada products, and the partnership with Kepware provides it the unique opportunity to enhance their product suite with extensive communication connectivity, truly leveraging the quality architecture and products of Kepware,” says Tom Burke, president of the OPC Foundation. “It is always a pleasure to watch two companies that are dedicated to delivering highly functional, high quality products to the marketplace partner in such a fashion.”
