Fieldbus training in South Africa

The Fieldbus Foundation Southern African Marketing Committee (FFSAMC) has announced an alliance with STC-SA, member of the STC-Group (The Netherlands), an international high-end training organisation. STC-SA will be providing training for Foundation Fieldbus (FF) in southern Africa. STC-SA is a vendor neutral training organisation and a certified training provider for the Fieldbus Foundation Organization internationally.
The FFSAMC’s aim is to bring certified FF training in southern Africa through the STC-SA. The STC-Group already has a processing plant setup as a training facility for FF in Brielle (The Netherlands) where training is provided. STC-SA will act independently in terms of the cost of training and schedules, however, the FFSAMC will provide guidance where necessary on training to ensure maximum benefit to end-users. The training venue is to be located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Training will be provided by certified South African trainers assisted by the instructors from Brielle when necessary. The first course is scheduled to commence in the second week of July 2008.
What courses are on offer?
Course 1: FF Certified Maintainer – duration five days.
Contents: Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot Foundation Fieldbus systems. Fundamentals of the FF protocol.
Course 2: FF Certified Designer – duration two days
Contents: Segment Design and FF Authority.
Course 3: FF Certified Professional – duration two days
Contents: Overview on FF and its place in industry. Solutions offered by FF in process applications.
Course 4: FF Certified Wiring Installer – duration one day
Contents: All about the wiring and termination of FF segments. Best practice, testing of cable, choice of cable and commissioning.
