CBI acquires Moeller's business in South Africa
May 2008
News
The German electrical manufacturer Moeller will hand over its activities in South Africa to CBI-electric: low voltage, effective 1 April, 2008. The company’s long history in the business and the complementary product range will provide an increased level of competence in the electrical component and system solution environment.
For our customers and partners the acquisition by CBI-electric provides an extended product portfolio and an increased service level. Manfred Schwarzinger, board member of Moeller Electric South Africa explains, “CBI-electric has an extraordinarily good market position in South Africa – together with our future partner CBI we have the opportunity for long-term growth.”
Chris Oliver, managing director of CBI-electric: low voltage states, “We are proud to be associated with such a well-known brand in the industry. The addition of the Moeller product range will enhance CBI-electric’s industrial control portfolio, allowing customers to benefit from a wider range of products and solutions.”
Operationally, Moeller South Africa will continue in its present format and customers will still enjoy the same level of service, be supported by the same staff and have access to the same range of branded products they have been accustomed to in the past.
