A range of pilot burners from Smitsvonk is designed for the ignition of waste gas from pipe flares, air and steam assisted flares and ground flares. The pilot burners can ignite all types of flares in the petrochemical, oil and gas, steel and biogas industries.

For most flare systems, the pilot burner cannot be accessed for service. Maintenance or replacement is not possible while the flare is in operation. To safeguard operation, Smitsvonk's pilots provide reliable ignition and stable burning even under the most arduous climatic conditions.

Available in 1200 mm, 2326 mm and 2500 mm lengths, the pilot burners have an angled or straight design with a 12 mm BSPM gas connection. The supply gas is natural gas, propane, butane or refinery gas, as well as biogas and refinery gas up to 100% hydrogen.

The pilot burners operate with high energy ignition via three integrated spark plugs. They ensure long life and longer maintenance intervals. Insensitive to moisture and dirt, the pilot burners have an integrated and protected thermocouple, easy fit cable connectors and a self-aspirating or forced air supply.

The instruments are constructed from high temperature-resistant stainless steel, and are functionally tested to client specifications prior to delivery.
