On display were the beta versions of the Adroit version 7.0 SCADA, the eagerly awaited version 3.0 of the VIZNET Information Portal and OPUS web reporting software, with market driven improvements designed by people with a deep level of understanding of the complexities and challenges of the day-to-day running of process operations.
Adroit’s managing director, Dave Wibberley says, “It was a great success and we continue to amaze people with our technology, expertise and success. Apart from new clients we had the opportunity to cement ties with some existing customers and distributors.”
More than 45 000 visitors streamed into the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre over the three-day exhibition to peruse and take in the latest automation technology on display from over 1300 exhibitors spread over nine halls.
Wibberley was joined at the show by Adroit’s European distributor managing director, Berge Billiauws, plus South African business development director, Paul Geng, and Johan Nieuwenhuizen a senior sales engineer.
“Being based in Germany the show obviously attracts about 80% Germans but the balance are from the rest of Europe and from other countries around the world. We had much interest from Eastern Europe and made some great contacts,” said Paul Geng.
The new features demonstrated at SPS created a lot of interest, particularly the Advanced Alarm Management, Maximum Demand Agent, SNMP Manager and the new auditing capability of the version 7.0 system.
Dave Wibberley concludes with a comment, “Our European customers were really impressed and we are looking forward to the release and country wide road shows in the second quarter of 2008, I have no doubt that our local customers will be delighted with the new version and we will continue to lead the way in the South African market.”
