Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) adds Profibus PA interfaces to the Sitrans LR250 and Sitrans LR460 radar level transmitters. This allows for a more flexible approach to diagnostic management. It provides substantial cost savings through preventive maintenance as well as reporting information to optimise plant efficiency, including advanced diagnostic data. These transmitters conform to the Profibus Profile Version 3.01, Class B standard, allowing users to prioritise status information between maintenance and operator stations. The profile standard allows optimum interoperability with other Profile Version 3, Class B level devices.
The addition of a standard interface has equipped the LR series with extended interoperability
The compact plug-and-play 25 GHz 2-wire device Sitrans LR250 is the easiest to install and quickest to configure radar transmitter available today. The level of liquids or slurries can be accurately and reliably measured in minutes. The transmitter can be used in general applications, but is also suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical and hydrocarbon processing applications, including corrosive environments.
Sitrans LR460 is a continuous radar level measurement transmitter featuring 24 GHz frequency-modulated continuous wave technology and process intelligence echo processing. Sitrans LR460 is designed for difficult solids applications, including those with extreme dust, high temperatures and long ranges up to 100 meters (328 feet). Virtually any solid medium can be measured, including cement powder, fly-ash, coal, gypsum, flour, grain, aggregates and plastics.
